Our Future Fairlop
We have exciting plans to preserve and expand Fairlop Waters by adding 250 acres to the park in the coming years. Working with the community, we want to create an inspiring vision for Fairlop Waters.

Better separation of cyclists/walkers. Improve rutted and uneven walking/cycling surface. Create off road link between Fairlop water and Redbridge cycle centre. Improve road surface from Barkingside station over the hill to the golf course including create cycle Lane or markings.
Some Wellness Rooms to support mental health would be amazing with discounts for those businesses who are also local residents. I would love to be able to offer my Sound Baths here. I already run indoor Sound Baths and in the summer I hold them outdoors in Epping Forest. Event organiser only parking would be amazing near any Wellness rooms (to carry equipment). Rooms would ideally be in quiet areas of the park.
Food and culture stalls provided by local businesses. Different food and drink stands and sellers of handmade/homemade goods. Great way to help small businesses, get people outdoors and trying new things. Twice a week perhaps. Similar to farmers markets that take place in wanstead, south woodford and Walthamstow - each incredibly popular.
Forest Road entrances and pathways in particular should be made more secure.
Please fill in the pot holes on all the tracks. Do a walk around after it has rained and fill them in. It makes it very hard to walk the tracks, particularly around the parameter after rain
Over a three-month period between September and December 2020, we engaged with the community to gather your views on Fairlop Waters.
The outcomes of your contributions were presented on Wednesday 16th December at 6 pm at a public online event and a final report was published here in February 2021.
Over the summer of 2021, the community came together to develop a vision and a set of core principles that would inform the masterplan. Check out the vision principles and the engagement report from phase 2
Between October 2021 and February 2022, our master-planners and the community worked together to translate the vision principles created in phase 2 into a draft masterplan.
Over the Summer and Autumn of 2022, the community gave their feedback on the draft Masterplan. Check out the Engagement Report from phase 4.
The Masterplan was approved by Cabinet on 13th July 2023. We will now be working on projects to bring the Masterplan to life.
