Falmouth Gardens Zebra Crossing
The Council is proposing to introduce road safety improvements on Falmouth Gardens between Vista Drive and Fairmead Gardens.
WHAT ARE WE PROPOSING?
We are proposing to install a raised zebra crossing on Falmouth Gardens to improve pedestrian safety. Two potential locations have been identified, each shown on separate attached plans:
- Option 1: A raised zebra crossing near the junction with Vista Drive as shown on attached plan. (Falmouth Gardens_2025_E_049_Opt_1)
- Option 2: A raised zebra crossing near the junction with Fairmead Gardens as shown on attached plan. (Falmouth Gardens_2025_E_050_Opt_2)
We are seeking your views on which option would best serve the needs of the community.
The Metropolitan Police, London Fire Brigade and London Ambulance Services have been consulted on the proposals.
Why make changes?
The main objective of the proposed scheme is to make this area safer for vulnerable road users. The proposed scheme will help pedestrians to cross the road safely, reduce the occurrence of collisions involving pedestrians involved and improve road safety in the area.
There have been 2 personal injury collisions in the last three years for which data is available on Falmouth Gardens. Traffic surveys undertaken on Falmouth Gardens have demonstrated that there is significant pedestrian demand for crossing facilities at this location.
