The Council is proposing to introduce road safety improvements on Cranbrook Road near its junction with Martley Drive.

We are proposing to install a traffic signal-controlled pedestrian crossing on Cranbrook Road near the junction with Martley Drive as shown on the attached Plan No. 2024-E-132.

The Metropolitan Police, London Fire Brigade, London Ambulance Services and London Buses have been being consulted on the proposals.

Why make changes?

The main objective of the proposed scheme is to make this area safer for vulnerable road users. The proposed scheme will help pedestrians to cross the road safely, reduce the occurrence of collisions involving pedestrians involved and improve road safety in the area.

There have been nine personal injury collisions in the last three years for which data is available on this section of Cranbrook Road. Traffic surveys undertaken on Cranbrook Road have demonstrated that there is significant pedestrian demand for improved crossing facilities at this location.
