The Council has received a petition from the residents of Chadwell Heath Lane (between Little Heath and Rochford Avenue) requesting that new permit parking controls are introduced to make parking easier for local properties.

We have included the adjacent area of Little Heath in this consultation to see whether local residents would also support those parking spaces being protected for local permit holders only.

We want to know whether you would support these controls being introduced. A decision will be made based on the responses received to this consultation by local residents. It is important that you have your say.

Please complete the survey at the bottom of this page by Sunday 23 April 2023.

How does permit parking work?

Local parking spaces on this part of Chadwell Heath Lane and Little Heath could be protected for local permit holders only. New permit parking signs would be displayed alongside the existing footway parking bays on Chadwell Heath Lane, while in Little Heath these signs would be displayed alongside new bay markings.

The operating days and times of the permit controls would be decided based on the responses received to this consultation.

Only those that live within the permit parking area would be eligible to apply for parking permits. This would apply to all local properties shown within the plan available on this webpage.

Permit parking controls would only apply when parked inside the marked permit parking bays.

On Chadwell Heath Lane, some single yellow lines are proposed to help protect driveways from any obstruction caused by the displacement of parked vehicles. These single yellow lines would usually operate at the same time as the permit parking bays. However, if you would prefer that the days and times are different, this can be specified in the comments section on the questionnaire.
