Young Persons Crime and Safety Survey- January 2025

We want to hear from you! This survey is your chance to share your thoughts and experiences about crime in your community. Your input is vital in helping local authorities understand the issues that matter to you. By participating, you'll play a crucial role in shaping plans and actions in reducing crime levels where you live.

Questions are not mandatory but please try to fill these in as they give us a good picture of crime and safety priorities. There is no right or wrong answer, we simply want to hear what matters to you!

Informed Consent

This survey is completely anonymous, so that means no-one will know what you have said. You do not need to answer every question if you don’t want to. If you are not sure how to answer a question, you can just choose the option ‘I don’t know’ or not answer it at all. You can decide to stop taking part in the survey at any time and delete your answers if you change your mind.  

Everything you say will be collected by the council. They will think carefully about what has been shared and will use what they learn to try to make improvements to crime and safety priorities. This will include sharing what they learn with different partners across the community, like local youth organisations and the police. Nobody that receives the information shared will know who has taken part.  

We have tried to make the survey as easy as possible to understand. You can do the survey online and it works on phones, tablets and computers. If you do not understand any of the questions or want to speak to someone about them before you fill the survey out, please ask an adult, such as a council officer, youth worker or someone you trust to help you.  

The survey asks questions about all sorts of things to do with crime, safety or experiences in Redbridge; you might find some of that hard to talk about. The survey is anonymous, so you will not receive any follow up on anything you share in your answers. If you want to talk about any feelings it brings up for you or need some support, please speak to a trusted adult.
