    Photo gallery - Redbridge Places

This photograph was taken in Ilford, looking out from the upper level of the Exchange car park. At the heart of the composition is the iconic Redbridge Town Hall, a historic architectural landmark that has long stood as a symbol of civic pride in the borough. I chose to capture the scene in black and white to remove visual distractions and focus attention on the structure, mood, and geometry of the space. Using the strong leading lines of the spiral ramp and the overhead shadows, I guide the viewer’s eye toward the domes and classical façade of County Hall, allowing its elegance to emerge from within the urban surroundings. This image captures the contrast between brutalist concrete infrastructure and timeless architecture, reflecting Redbridge’s unique blend of history and modern life. Often overlooked, this view reveals a hidden gem — a perspective that celebrates the beauty in everyday places and the borough’s rich architectural heritage.
