Thank you to those residents and businesses that responded to our recent parking consultation. The feedback received has now been fully considered and it has been agreed that new permit parking controls will be introduced into the area shown in the plan on this webpage (this area had majority support from 66% of respondents).

These new parking controls will be introduced from Monday 30 March 2026. They will operate as part of the existing Wanstead D (WD) permit parking area, operational from 8.30am to 6.30pm, Monday to Friday.

In the rest of the area consulted, there was a lack of support during consultation and therefore no permit controls are proposed in those other roads at this time.

How do I apply for a permit?

If you live inside the Wanstead D (WD) parking zone and intend to park in these roads during the controlled times, you will need to apply for a permit. Permits are also available for visitors to residential properties.

For more information on parking permits, to check your eligibility for a parking permit and to apply, please visit the following webpage: www.redbridge.gov.uk/parking

In most cases, you should expect to receive your permit(s) through the post within 10 working days from the date your application is received.

Can I get help with my permit application?

Will you consider including further roads?

The area of new permit parking controls outlined on this webpage aligns with the area of majority support received from respondents during consultation. However, wherever new parking controls are introduced, this may result in parking being displaced into any adjacent roads that are left uncontrolled.

If your road is not included in the new permit parking area but you think it should be, this can be requested by submitting a petition which must be signed by over 50% of properties in the requested part of the road.

Further information and guidance on petitions

is available online at:

The purpose of the petition process is to ensure that any request to further extend the permit parking area has local majority support.
