Our Works
We are writing to inform you that street lighting renewal works have recently been completed in your area during the current financial year.
Street lighting renewals are carried out to improve safety, visibility, and reliability, and to support safer travel during hours of darkness. The Council prioritise street lighting renewal schemes through looking at its most aged lamp columns and conducting a structural test. The test provides the Council with indications towards the lamp columns structural integrity and if it needs replacing now or slightly into the future. The Council also work with safety groups and the Metropolitan Police to look at areas to improve as part of its public safety programme, more can be found on this in the Capital programme, a link is provided at the end of this leaflet for the full works programme.
