Redbridge Council is exploring opportunities to expand its music service offer. Our ambition is for Redbridge Music Service to have a strong and sustainable future, with the ability to grow its offer, improve accessibility and reach even more children and young people across the borough. The service is highly valued by the Council, schools, families and young people across the borough, with more than 2,000 children and young people benefiting from its activities each year.
The Council will undertake a feasibility study to understand what options are available to enable expansion of the music service. If relocation becomes necessary, we will work closely with the service to identify a suitable alternative venue, ensuring continuity while also creating opportunities to improve accessibility and enhance and expand the service within modernised facilities. Importantly, no decisions have been taken at this stage. We are committed to engaging with service users and stakeholders before future proposals are developed. Your views are important and will help inform our decision-making.
We therefore encourage you to complete this survey to share your thoughts, concerns and comments with us through one of our two surveys below.

Following the launch of our surveys on Redbridge Music Service in July, we would like to provide an update to users and stakeholders on the next stages of the process.
Thank you to everyone who has already taken part in the survey. We would encourage anyone who has not yet responded to do so, as the feedback received will help inform our ongoing work and future recommendations. These surveys, for adults, parents and stakeholders and for children and young people are open until 20th September 2026.
As part of the process, a decision will shortly be considered on whether to publish a statutory notice relating to a proposed expansion of New Rush Hall School. Publication of a statutory notice does not represent a final decision. It is a formal stage in the process that enables representations to be made on the proposed expansion before any final determination is reached. If publication is approved, the statutory notice will be followed by a four -week representation period. Any representations received during this period will be considered before a final decision is made. Details on how to make such representations will be shared if publication is approved.
Alongside this, we are continuing our feasibility work in relation to the future location of the Redbridge Music Service. This feasibility work has included ongoing engagement with the Music Service leadership, alongside the exploration of a range of options, including co-location and alternative accommodation arrangements, to support the long-term sustainability of the service.
Throughout this process, our priority remains to protect and strengthen the Music Service. The intention is not only to ensure its future sustainability, but also to create opportunities for more local residents, particularly children and young people, to access and benefit from high-quality music provision.
We will continue to keep users and stakeholders informed as the project progresses and will publish further updates on key milestones and opportunities to provide feedback.
