The Council is proposing to introduce road safety improvements on Manford Way.
We are proposing to provide traffic calming in the form of raised speed tables at pedestrian crossing points on Manford Way close to Parkes Road, Foremark Close, Fallow Close and Staggart junctions as shown in Plan 1 and Plan 2.
The Metropolitan Police, London Fire Brigade and London Ambulance Services have been being consulted on the proposals.
Why make changes?
The main objective of the proposed scheme is to make this area safer for all road users. The road safety measures will help reduce vehicular speeds, improve driver awareness, improve crossing conditions for pedestrians and improve road safety in the area.
Lowering traffic speeds also makes our streets less polluted, and better and safer places to walk and cycle.
There are high levels of pedestrian in the area including those using the shopping area and school children attending Manford World School.
