We Care For Our Air

Thursday 14th September 2023, 12:00-12:45

Lead: Jennifer Biggs – Project Lead – PWLC PROJECTS (working on behalf of Redbridge Council Air Pollution team).

Join our Lunch and Learn session to learn about “We Care for our Air Redbridge”, a two year Defra funded Air Quality project which aims to increase knowledge and understanding about air quality issues in local communities across the borough. The three focus areas are Loxford, Goodmayes and Newbury, selected because they have some the highest rates of admissions for asthma in the borough. Using schools, GP surgeries and other organisations as hubs to engage and empower local residents to monitor air quality in their local areas, so that this data can raise awareness about air pollution, and drive action on how best to protect communities.

Via R3 (Support for problematic alcohol and drug use)

Thursday 28th September 2023, 12:30-13:15

Lead: Helen O’Connor – Service Manager for Via Redbridge Services

Via (formerly WDP) are commissioned to deliver several services in Redbridge – Adult (R3) and Young People’s (Fusion) drug and alcohol services, Young People’s sexual health (Bewize), rough seeping and outreach, and the smoking cessation service (Redbridge Quits Smoking). In this session, Helen O’Connor, the new service manager for Via’s Redbridge Services, will provide an overview of the support and treatment available at Via’s adult drug and alcohol service, R3. Helen will also be asking participants to share their views and ideas of how we can encourage more people to seek support – specifically reducing barriers for people who may not consider a ‘drug and alcohol service’ as somewhere relevant or appropriate for them to seek help.
