Community Voice is a resident engagement panel made up of 80 people from across Redbridge who meet six times a year to share their views and lived experiences on a wide range of council projects, services and policies. The panel gives residents a meaningful opportunity to influence decisions that affect their everyday lives, helping the Council better understand what matters most to local communities and ensure services are shaped by resident insight. Meetings typically last 90 minutes and are primarily held online, with each session focusing on a different topic or area of council work. It is important to note that panellists receive a £100 eVoucher if they attend at least 50% of the sessions throughout the year.
The panel discusses a wide‑range of topics which in the past has included community safety, adult safeguarding, tackling poverty, early years and family support, environmental and climate action, licensing and public safety, and the borough’s long‑term vision and priorities. Each session is hosted by a different council service area, and residents’ contributions directly inform policy development, strategic planning and service improvement, with feedback shared on how their views have been used.
Panel members are recruited through an open application process and are selected to be broadly representative of the borough, using equality, diversity and inclusion data to reflect Redbridge’s communities.
The 2026 recruitment process has officially opened and if you are a resident and wish to become a member of Community Voice then please scroll down to the bottom of this page and fill out the application form to express your interest.
