Our Works
We are writing to inform you that carriageway resurfacing works have recently been completed in your area during the current financial year.
Carriageway resurfacing is carried out to maintain the condition of the road, improve safety for all road users, and reduce future defects such as potholes. The Council has spent £10m over the past four years with an additional £1.115m from the Department of Transport. The Council has committed to a further £24m over the next eight years for carriageway resurfacing. The Council will also receive an additional £8.23m over the next four years from the Department of Transport subject to incentives the Council has to meet. In this year the Council has resurfaced just over 80,000 square metres which is roughly the which is the equivalent of 307 tennis courts, seven and half times the retail space of Stanstead Airport.
The Council completes annual condition surveys of the road network and prioritises roads for resurfacing based on its structural condition score, numbers of defects raised, and whether the road is a gritting route, alongside other factors. These works form part of the London Borough of Redbridge’s planned highways maintenance programme. The Council also inspects all its roads regularly to pick up potholes, broken kerbs, paving, signs, posts, and bollards as part of its reactive maintenance service.
Below are some of the areas we have been working on this year that we are seeking your feedback on:
Beattyville Gardens
The Lowe
Gordon Road (Wanstead Village)
Springfield Drive
Granville Road (South Woodford)
What we are asking of you?
We welcome feedback on:
The quality and standard of the works
How clearly the scheme was explained
Site management during the works
Any other comments you wish to provide
If you cannot access the survey we welcome any feedback in writing of our carriageway resurfacing schemes in your area via email or you can write to us, those details are below:
Highways and Transportation, 2nd Floor Front, Lynton House, 255-259 High Road, Ilford, IG1 1NY
