Give Blood, Spread Love - Redbridge!
Sickle Cell Disease (SCD) is a life-threatening genetic blood disorder
15,000 people in the UK have SCD.
Approx. 90% are of African or Caribbean heritage.
Blood transfusions are a vital treatment.
Blood needs to come from people of the same ethnic background.
Not enough Black heritage people give blood.
We need to quadruple the amount of new Black and mixed-race donors to meet the needs of people with SCD.
The Sickle Cell Society is asking people of black-heritage living in Redbridge to:
Sign up & save a life, using this link bit.ly/scsgiveblood
(Each blood donation can save or improve the lives of 3 adults or 6 children.)
Once registered, you’ll be contacted to make an appointment.
You can donate at a time and location that suits you, including at Westfield, Stratford City, E20 1EJ.
