Introduction to Hainault Hub FAQs

The Hainault Hub FAQs section will be built up as residents share questions about the Hub and the design process.

If you have questions about the programme as a whole, visiting our Introduction to the Community Hubs programme would be a helpful start.

Where will the Hainault Community Hub be?

The site for Hainault Hub is the current community association and library site at 100 Manford Way, IG7.

Why is Hainault Community Hub needed?

The Hub will bring a range of council and partner services directly into the local community, as well as renewing the ageing buildings which currently accommodate Hainault Forest Community Association and Hainault Library, protecting them for the future.

What will the Hainault Community Hub contain?

The Hainault Community Hub will provide new facilities for Hainault Forest Community Association, a state of the art library, access to community spaces and council services, and a range of other facilities identified by the community through the co-design process.

How long will the Hainault Community Hub take to deliver?

The timeline for the delivery of a Hub scheme is dependent on a number of factors, however generally can take between 4-6 years.

How will local residents be involved in designing Hainault Community Hub?

The Council is working with residents at each stage of the design process to develop plans for the Hub, as shown in our process for delivering a Community Hub. If you would like to hear about opportunities to get involved, please contact us and/or ensure you have registered for Hainault Community Hub updates on this site.

Why has the Hainault Hub scheme been paused?

In April 2023, the Council paused the delivery of the Gants Hill and Hainault Hub schemes, in light of rising construction costs, challenging housing market conditions and the difficult economic climate.

The Council will revisit these decisions as prevailing economic conditions improve, and with them the Council's own financial position.
