Name our new food waste recycling vehicles
Dear Redbridge Elective Home Education Parents,
The London Borough of Redbridge waste education team are delighted to invite your home educated learners (Primary) to take part in an exciting competition to name our new food waste recycling vehicles!
In November 2025, we introduced food waste recycling to 10,000 properties. We are now thrilled to be rolling out the service to the rest of our kerbside households later this year. Food waste recycling is a fantastic way to turn everyday food scraps into energy.
To celebrate the wider rollout of this service, we are asking young people to help name our fleet of eight brand new food waste recycling vehicles.

An activity to help home educated learners learn more about food waste recycling and inspire their vehicle name ideas.
The closing date for the competition is Friday 26th June 2026.
Submit entries via post or email (addresses are included in the ‘how to’ guide).
We can’t wait to see the creativity for which Redbridge home educated learners are so well known.
