Introduction

Redbridge Council is undertaking a consultation to support the development of our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Strategy. This consultation will be ongoing for 12 weeks.

Our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Strategy describes what we plan to do to deliver better outcomes for those living and working in Redbridge through levelling up life chances across the diverse communities of Redbridge. It will help the Council meet its legal duties under the Equality Act 2010 and help us ensure that what we do is always for the benefit of Redbridge’s residents.

This consultation is an opportunity for our residents, communities, partners and stakeholders to have their say and help shape our strategic approach to equalities in the borough. This draft strategy has been developed based on existing data and knowledge, we will continue to develop this based on feedback we receive during this consultation period.

Our services need to make decisions regarding where our focus should be – your feedback will help us do this.

A consultation document has been published to help inform the conversation and we welcome your views and feedback by completing this survey. The valuable feedback we receive from the survey will help shape the final version of the Strategy.

Our EDI Strategy will be a road map for realising our ambition for equality across the Borough. It will present our approach to EDI – codesigned with our communities - and highlight how we will deliver real change by being bold and innovative.

By completing the survey, you will be providing valuable responses that will be used to inform the final version of the strategy. The final version will also be updated to include Census 2021 data, which we are analysing as it is released. A revised version of the strategy will be agreed by the Council’s Cabinet in late 2023.
