Today, we held our Community Fair on Ilford Lane as part of the ongoing Ilford Lane Project - Love the Lane, and it was an incredible success!

Over 200 residents came together to enjoy a fantastic afternoon of fun, information, and connection. From health checks and youth mentoring to children’s activities and engaging talks on safety, the event was packed with value for everyone. Plus, the free karak chai from Chaiiwala was a definite crowd-pleaser! ☕

Available to residents were:
Benefits Service, Colours of Redbridge, Community Safety, Chaiiwala, Empowering Parents Together (EPT), Family Information Services Directory (FiND), Lifeline, Loxford Children’s Centre, Metropolitan Police, Neighbourhoods, Public Health, ReachOut, Redbridge Healthy Bus, Redbridge Rainbow, South Ilford Business Association, WorkRedbridge, YouthUnity.

The highlight of the event was hearing directly from residents about their experiences and what they loved most. Here's what some attendees had to say:

🗣 "What I enjoyed about this was the people and how very informative they could be. They helped me understand about apprenticeships and GCSE options and all that." Nadal
🗣 "It's amazing to have outreach! The outreach engagement hub on Ilford Lane because we need to access all the services into one area" Shazia
🗣 "I felt amazing after long time. I have been here for almost 14 years now but I never saw anything like this. And my kids really enjoyed it, especially my oldest son!" Maryam

A heartfelt thank you to Samiya, our wonderful volunteer who gave her time and effort to help with this event. Your contributions were truly appreciated by everyone!

Thank you to all the organisations and attendees who made the event so special.
