Affordable Homes Programme

The Affordable Homes Programme is part of Redbridge Council’s commitment to providing high-quality, affordable council homes for local people. We aim to build 600 new homes by 2024 on existing council-owned sites across the borough. We have secured £20 million from the Greater London Authority, Building Homes for London grant, to help meet our delivery plans.

Redbridge currently has among the lowest number of council houses in London and as a result on average, a local family must wait 13 years for a property.

To help address this housing crisis, we’re building a mixture of one, two, three and four-bedroom homes across Redbridge. These new homes boast a range of different features including front and rear gardens, driveways, and communal green spaces. The homes we are building through the Affordable Homes Programme will be rented to those currently on the housing register.
